Oracle Bone Script is the earliest known system of Chinese writing, dating back to around 1200 BCE in the late Shang dynasty. Etched into turtle shells and animal bones, these inscriptions documented divination practices and imperial affairs, marking the origin of Chinese literacy and civilization.
