“Qinghe Scroll – After Mi Fu” Cursive Script by Li Wei

This original calligraphy piece by Li Wei is a personal rendition of Mi Fu’s famous work “Qinghe Scroll” from the Song Dynasty. Rendered in expressive cursive script (行草书), it demonstrates both spontaneity and discipline — balancing swift motion and grounded control.

The work is written on traditional handmade hemp paper, evoking an ancient textual texture and literati spirit. Each stroke breathes with the echoes of classical heritage, yet infused with the artist’s own personality.

Li Wei, Cultural Exchange Chairman of Yu JIAN Academy and alumna of the University of Rochester, was trained in both the Liu style regular script and cursive calligraphy. Her works have toured internationally, embodying the scholarly grace of Wei–Jin and Tang–Song traditions.
