This original calligraphy work by Li Wei is a tracing of Zhong Yao’s classic “The Declaration Tablet” (尚书宣示表), composed in meticulous small Miniature Regular Script (小楷) on patterned wax-dyed paper. The text, originally written by Zhong Yao (151–230), known as the “father of regular script,” represents one of the foundational masterpieces of Chinese calligraphy in the Wei-Jin period.

The scroll faithfully follows the structure and rhythm of Zhong Yao’s exemplary kaishu, demonstrating Li Wei’s technical control and refined aesthetic judgment. Her solid foundation in Liu-style regular script, later refined under the mentorship of Sun Wenjia, allows her to embody both historical reverence and contemporary craftsmanship.

Li Wei is the Cultural Exchange Chairman of Yu JIAN Academy and holds dual Master’s degrees in Management and Information Science from the University of Rochester. Her works have been showcased in national and international exhibitions.

This piece is a one-of-a-kind, unframed, original handwritten work, ideal for collectors of classical scripts and students of calligraphy.
