This original calligraphy artwork features the beloved Tang dynasty poem “Autumn Verse” by Liu Yuxi, celebrating the majestic spirit of autumn. The lines invert the traditional melancholy view of autumn, replacing it with clarity, strength, and poetic inspiration, as symbolized by a solitary crane ascending through the clouds.

Yang Wenjie transcribes this piece in regular script, marked by its balance and vigor. A dedicated martial artist and calligraphy enthusiast based in Jining, Shandong, Yang currently trains under Master Sun Wenjia. Though relatively new to the art, he demonstrates remarkable control and expressive depth.

“Since old times, autumn provokes lonely sighs,
but in my eyes, it's more radiant than spring's prime.
To the clear air through clouds, a crane soars high,
inspiring poetic rhymes towards the azure sky.”
