Description:
This piece is a cursive script rendition of "Drinking Wine (Fifth One)" by Tao Yuanming from the Jin dynasty. The text reads:
I built my hut in a realm of men, yet there is no clamor of carriage and horse.
You ask how can it be so? A mind apart, the place is naturally secluded.
I pluck chrysanthemums by the eastern fence, leisurely gazing at the southern mountain.
The mountain air is lovely in the sunset, and birds return together in flight.
Within this there lies true meaning — yet when I wish to explain, the words have already slipped away.
