I built my hut among men,
Yet there’s no noise of cart or horse.
You ask how this is possible?
A distant heart makes its own solitude.
Picking chrysanthemums by the eastern fence,
I gaze calmly toward the Southern Mountain.
The mountain air is fresh in dusk and dawn,
Together the flying birds return.

问君何能尔？心远地自偏。
采菊东篱下，悠然见南山。
