This work by Li Wei is a refined tracing of “The Letter of Roaming Eyes” (《游目帖》), originally penned by the legendary calligrapher Wang Xizhi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Executed in free-flowing cursive script on antique-toned patterned paper, the brushstrokes reflect Li Wei’s sensitivity to classical rhythm and the emotional cadence of literati correspondence.
Li Wei, Cultural Exchange Chairman of Yu JIAN Academy and an alumna of the University of Rochester with dual Master’s degrees in Management and Information Science, has studied Chinese calligraphy from childhood. After foundational training in Liu-style regular script, she focused on running and cursive scripts in the Wei–Jin tradition, guided by calligrapher Sun Wenjia. Her works have been exhibited in national calligraphy shows and toured internationally.
This is a one-of-a-kind original handwritten work, unframed, and an excellent addition for collectors seeking expressive continuity with China’s literary heritage.
