Description
This work by Huang Yangxiang from Yangjiang, Guangdong, presents the Song Dynasty poem "Zhaojun's Complaint" by Yang Wanli in cursive script. The poem captures a dreamlike scene on West Lake, where a sudden rain awakens the dreamer, only to find raindrops dancing on lotus leaves, scattering and gathering like pearls into pools of liquid silver. The calligraphy flows with expressive brushwork, conveying both the poetic charm and the dynamic rhythm of cursive script.

Excerpt Translation:
At noon I dream beneath flowers on a boat,
Fragrance fills the misty waters of West Lake.
Sudden rain drums on the canopy, startling my dream,
It is only lotus leaves catching the rain — scattering pearls, gathering again,
Forming nests of liquid silver, pouring out clear ripples.
